Mrs. Lemke grew up in northern Minnesota. She began playing piano when she was six, which grew into a need to be the church organist when she was 12. After moving to Rockford with her parents in her mid-teens, she continued playing for church which lead to opportunities to play in many denominations over the years. She also taught piano and organ while her son and two daughters were growing. After they were grown, the timing was right for a career in teaching music which led her to St. James.
After four school years, God gave her the opportunity to take care of her ailing mother, close her estate and all the things that go along with that. The door opened again for Mrs. Lemke to rejoin the St. James family fall 2011. She truly loves teaching music at St. James. Mrs. Lemke has stated, "I feel it is a good fit. I feel so welcomed here by all, especially the students and teachers. God has blessed me to be able to bring my knowledge and skills to the children of St. James."
She has also been blessed with additions to her family this year; a grandson, the first child for her son and a granddaughter born to her youngest in November, also her first. She and her husband are blessed for all the joys God has bestowed on their family.
