Email: Mrs. Kelly Swanson
Mrs. Kelly (Mroz) Swanson is a life-long Catholic who has been happily married to her high school sweetheart for 17 years. She is the proud mother of two wonderful sons. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Biological Sciences from Northern Illinois University in 2001. She found her true calling as a Science teacher in 2005 when she received her teaching certification.
Mrs. Swanson worked at East High School in Rockford, until her life changed in 2006. She was expecting her first child with her husband, Ron. She left teaching to devote my time solely to her family. They were blessed with their son John, who is now in fifth grade at St. James. In 2009, they welcomed their second son, Samuel. He is now a third grade Primary Unit student. When Sam began Kindergarten, she decided to return to teaching.
Mrs. Swanson started teaching at St. James in 2014, and is currently teaching Religion for seventh and eighth grades, Science for fifth through eigth grades, and Math for sixth through eigth grades. She believes in teaching our students to imitate Christ in word and deed. As the Religion teacher for seventh and eighth grade, helping our students grow spiritually in their relationship with Christ is a main priority for her. Every day she wakes up and is grateful for both her family and her job as a teacher here at St. James School.
